Venice Real Estate
Home to some of the country’s best golfing and beaches, Venice, Fla., offers the tranquility of the ocean within a thriving tourist community. Some of the best sunsets are captured off the shorelines of Venice’s many beaches. When you are not watching sunsets, you may be able to find a few shark teeth that have washed up on the shore. Many ocean enthusiasts have called Venice the “Shark tooth capital of the World.” Regardless of what you find to be pleasurable, you will probably be able to find it in Venice. If you decide that you would like to call Venice home, even if it is only during the mild winters, you should consider purchasing one of the many available waterfront homes in Venice.
In 2000, Venice had a population of 17,764, which has increased to an estimated 19,990 by 2004. This increase in population has resulted in many new homes and condominiums being built along the shorelines. Since condominiums have become a popular real estate commodity in Venice, the amount of available waterfront homes has thus increased. As of February 2006, there were 178 waterfront homes in Venice for sale.
Some of the waterfront homes are expensive, as you probably expected, yet they offer great locations and unlimited luxuries. A six bedroom, four bathroom estate with custom-made flooring and tiles, a pool, a gazebo, and a private boat dock on 1.2 acres of private land overlooking the Gulf of Mexico is available at an asking price of $1.76 million. Not all of Venice’s waterfront properties are this expensive, though.
Venice offers many beautiful lakeside properties that are also within minutes of the ocean. These properties have a price range from $119,900 to over $500,000. One such property is a beautiful two-bedroom, two-bathroom, 1,623 square foot single-family home with a large back porch offering spectacular views of large lakes as they merge into one. The asking price for this waterfront home is only $249,900.
Venice real estate is slightly more expensive than real estate in other parts of the country, but it should be. The beaches, golf courses and overall relaxed atmosphere of the community make Venice a very desirable place to live. The best thing about its real estate is that there is an abundance of available waterfront homes in Venice for sale.
